PO-05-137 ECG MORPHOLOGY IS A DETERMINANT OF SURVIVAL IN PULSELESS ELECTRICAL ACTIVITY
نویسندگان
چکیده
Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) due to pulseless electrical activity (PEA) has a poor prognosis and identification of cases with higher likelihood survival could facilitate the resuscitation process. In PEA, QRS frequency morphology can vary significantly. To investigate if predict outcomes in PEA. The study population is drawn from two prospective, community-based studies out-of-hospital SCA U.S.: Oregon SUDS Portland, OR metro area (Pop. approx. 1 million; since 2002) Ventura PRESTO County CA 850,000, 2015). present study, we included resuscitated by EMS that had recording ECG available, PEA was presenting rhythm. We analyzed frequency, regularity, width rhythm subset 347 PEA-SCA (34 survivors 313 non-survivors). mean age subjects 70.3±15.5 years 60.2% were male. prevalence >60 bpm 23.1% <120 ms 32.6%. Females more likely have narrow complex than males (39.9% vs. 27.8%; p=0.02) but there no sex difference frequency. Those rate those <60 (17.5% 7.5%: p=0.02). addition, comparison >120 (17.7% 6.0%; p=0.001). Cases both (<120 ms) fast (>60 bpm) highest (10/38, 26.3%). There between regular irregular rhythms. PEAs associated survival. These results suggest efforts are most be beneficial pattern.

Atropine, halothane, and pulseless electrical activity.
C ardiovascular depression from halothane overdose is a well-described cause of cardiac arrest in children undergoing anesthesia. In Salem et al’s (1) report of cardiac arrests in infants and children, seven of 73 were related to overdose of halothane. In Keenan and Boyan’s (2) landmark article on cardiac arrest due to anesthesia, five of six pediatric arrests were due to halothane excess, with...
متن کاملOutcome of out-of-hospital postcountershock asystole and pulseless electrical activity versus primary asystole and pulseless electrical activity.
OBJECTIVE In the prehospital setting, countershock terminates ventricular fibrillation (VF) in about 80% of cases. However, countershock is most commonly followed by asystole or pulseless electrical activity (PEA). The consequences of such a countershock outcome have not been well studied. The purpose of this investigation was to compare the outcome of prehospital VF victims shocked into asysto...
